Sir Lindsay Hoyle (Speaker of the House of Commons) hopes that hosting the G7 speakers conference at Astley Hall this weekend (17-19 September 2021) will “put Chorley on the world stage”. Prior to becoming Speaker in 2019, Hoyle was the MP for Chorley and has enthusiastically embraced the idea of hosting the speakers conference in his home county.

Hoyle was very keen to promote great local, sustainable produce and so it was no surprise to see delegates taking time out to visit our clients at Brindle Distillery, Holmes Farm, makers of the award wining Cuckoo gin. The independent distillers produce their distinctive range of gins using water from the farm’s natural spring and ingredients either grown on the farm or locally/ethically sourced. The company is committed to reducing their environmental impact and uses biomass boilers to heat the stills, recycle/reuse the bottles and the waste grain from the distilling process is fed to their cows.
