The pandemic has been a huge challenge for businesses with 396,155 UK firms closing in 2020 and the FSB predicting that a further 250,000 small businesses could fold by the end of 2021.

Business owners have struggled to cope with impact of restrictions and lockdown, yet, despite the challenges, 407,510 new businesses were formed in 2020 and a record number are predicted to emerge this year.

With Government financial support still in place but tapering off, some entrepreneurs may benefit from starting sooner than later.
